13 Pakistani Universities among Best Global Universities Rankings 2021.
Thirteen universities from Pakistan have made it to the Best Global Universities rankings 2021, with Quaid-i-Azam University being the top-ranked Pakistani University with the highest score of 53.3.
The universities included in the Best Global Universities rankings 2021 are compared with other institutions using 13 factors, with research and academic reputation being the main focus for assessment. Various universities from around the globe are analyzed on these factors and ranked according to their scores.
After thorough analyzation 13 Pakistani Universities were included in the list selected from a pool of 1748 Universities from all around the world.
The global rankings 2021 include 1,500 institutions from across 86 countries. Out of the thirteen factors which are used to ascertain the rank of the institution the highest weightage is assigned to Global research reputation at 12.5 per cent, Regional Research reputation at 12.5 per cent and Number of publications that are among the 10 per cent most cited at 12.5 per cent.
Other notable academic institutions which are ranked in the list include Aga Khan University, COMSATS Islamabad, National University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, University of Peshawar and University of Punjab.
59 Indian institutions were included in the ranking list. However, Pakistani institutions did fairly well than their Indian counterparts as the global rank of Quaid-i-Azam University is 425th with an overall score of 53.3 as compared to the top-ranked Indian Institution, which is Institute of Science, Bangalore globally ranked at 520 with an overall score of 49.7.
